Role Overview

We are looking for a sharp, highly capable forensic accounting and special investigations professional to support complex financial review assignments involving irregular transactions, asset movement, procurement issues, internal control failures, and incomplete or unreliable records.

This is not a routine accounting, bookkeeping, tax, or statutory audit role.

The role is suitable for someone who can think independently, work with messy information, travel when required, reconstruct financial activity from limited records, and prepare clear evidence-based findings.

We are open to both experienced professionals and exceptional younger candidates who can demonstrate serious practical capability, judgment, and investigative discipline.

What the Role Involves

The selected candidate may work on assignments involving:

  • Forensic review of financial records

  • Transaction reconstruction

  • Asset tracing

  • Procurement and vendor review

  • Internal financial irregularities

  • Unexplained fund movement

  • Related-party transactions

  • Cash-flow and inventory reconciliation

  • Source-of-funds and use-of-funds review

  • Complex document review

  • Control failure analysis

  • Special financial investigations

  • Field-based financial review assignments

The work may involve incomplete, inconsistent, poorly maintained, or deliberately confusing records. The candidate must be able to identify patterns, reconstruct events, ask the right questions, preserve documentation, and prepare findings that can be reviewed by senior management, legal, compliance, or external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review ledgers, invoices, contracts, bank statements, payment records, vendor files, inventory records, reconciliations, and supporting documents.

  • Identify irregular transactions, fictitious vendors, inflated invoices, unexplained payments, control gaps, and unusual financial patterns.

  • Reconstruct transaction flows from incomplete or inconsistent records.

  • Map relationships between entities, individuals, vendors, intermediaries, and counterparties.

  • Support asset tracing and source of funds / use of funds analysis.

  • Conduct structured fact finding discussions where required.

  • Maintain proper documentation and evidence-handling discipline.

  • Prepare clear, concise, evidence based reports.

  • Work with internal leadership, legal, compliance, finance, and external advisors.

  • Travel for assignments when required.

  • Operate with strict confidentiality and professional discipline.

Who Should Apply

Qualifications

Formal qualifications are useful but not mandatory.

Relevant qualifications may include:

  • CA

  • CPA

  • CFA

  • ACCA

  • CFE

  • CIA

  • CAMS

  • Law

  • Investigation related background

However, selection will be based primarily on practical ability, judgment, analytical skill, discretion, and ability to handle complex assignments.

Exceptional candidates without traditional qualifications may be considered if they can demonstrate strong relevant capability.

  • Able to maintain confidentiality

  • Practical, focused, and not dependent on perfect office conditions

What This Role Is Not

This is not suitable for candidates who are looking for:

  • Routine accounting work

  • Bookkeeping

  • GST / tax filing only

  • Statutory audit-only work

  • Basic finance operations

  • Desk only compliance work

  • Entry level accounting exposure

  • A normal 9-to-5 finance role

Freshers and routine accounting profiles should not apply unless they can demonstrate exceptional investigation, analysis, or forensic capability.
